A person intending to appear for CSE examination must be
- Citizen of India for IAS and IPS. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
- For other services, the person should be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, Bhutan or an Indian origin migrating permanently to India from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam. Provided further that candidates belonging to categories (b), (c) and (d) above will not be eligible for appointment to the Indian Foreign Service.
- Degree from a Central, State, Deemed or Open University.
- Suitable degree from correspondence or distance education.
- A qualification recognized by the Govt. Of India to be equivalent to one of the above.
- Passed final exam of MBBS but are yet to finish their internship, ( Will have to submit proof upon completion).
- Degree from a private University. (Submission of proof required)
- Degree from a foreign university recognized by the Association of Indian Universities,(submission of proof required).
- Passed final exam of ICAI, ICSI, and ICWAI. (Submission of proof required.
